More than one Eclipse?
I am rather excited, because today the July edition of the Eclipse Magazine was published! Last month I was asked if I would consider contributing to this monthly magazine, and after I got over the shock, I agreed. Each month there is a section about residents in Second Life, called Voices from the Grid. Residents are asked a question, and the replies are presented in that article. This month’s question was “What do you most value in your Second Life friendships?” That was the basis of each persons contribution, and we were free to write whatever we wanted, plus include a photo of our avatar (or Eclipse could arrange a photographer). I was nervous, excited, excited and nervous, what would I write? Would my photo look as good as the ones I had seen in the previous issues? I wrote and re wrote my piece, and then edited and tweeked until I was happy, and heaved a huge sigh of relief when I finally pressed the ‘send’ button and my email was winging it’s way through cyber space. And several weeks later, I am in print! Thank you to all the Eclipse team for a great magazine, and I look forward to next month’s copy.

Today’s Faves – .Shi And Me
I saw this hair by .Shi and just had to have it! I have several of their hairs, and featured a few in my post .Shi.
There are three ways to wear it, version one has a front braid with optional chain, and covers almost half of the face.
Version two also has the front braid with optional chain, but this version shows more of the face, and highlights the delicate strands of hair woven into the braid.
Version three has no front braid and looks very stylish. Of course, there are several colour options to choose from, I couldn’t resist the amazing colours on the Ecaille-Metallic pack. There are five different colour options on the HUD. This blue green ombre is my personal fave.
I teamed the hair with a gorgeous eyeshadow from Arte in a very similar shade, and I did my own tint on a Pink Fuel lipstick.

I Won A Free Subscription Box!
Back in December I heard there was to be a new subscription box just for Catwa Mesh Heads, with an expected released date for January 2017. I eagerly awaited the arrival of this new subscription box, for several reasons. Firstly, I love make up! I love trying out new make up looks on my mesh head. Secondly, as this new subscription box was going to be just for Catwa Heads, I knew that I would be able to use everything in it, so that was a win win for me! Thirdly, and this was linked very much to my previous point, is that most, if not all, of the other fashion based subscription boxes, are very much biased to the main mesh body types of Slink or Maitreya. I have only the one mesh body, TMP (The Mesh Project) body, and I am very loyal to it. I do not want to buy every other sort of body just so I can buy this or that outfit. So, having said that, to find a subscription box that I could finally use all of the items was, to me, priceless!
And what is this fabulous new subscription box? I hear you ask. It is called Powder Pack, and is available here. It comes out on the 17th of each month, so there have been two thus far. They were both packed with amazing items from a group of twelve designers. The items have been very varied, and have included things like great make ups, facial marks, skins, lashes, and mesh eye appliers. Each month, Powder Pack group members are invited to post pictures on to the group Flickr page, wearing some of the contents from the boxes. Each month there has been a draw for a Powder Pack Princess, who wins three months free subscription to the box. I won a free month’s subscription just for being in the group, so I was extremely thrilled!
Starting next month they will also be doing a Subscription Box for LeLutka Heads. I am sure that will be a great success too.

Today’s Faves – Cute Casuals
I love this cute jacket and shorts combo I put together. The jacket comes with the T-shirt top and several textures options, available from ArisAris. Both the jacket and the T-shirt have a hide function, so they can both be worn separately.

Goodbye Alice, Hello Kimberly!
Well, I have finally gone and done it! After months of deliberating, demo testing, shape modifying, comparing the final option with my old version, saving up the relevant Lindens, spending them, saving up again… you know the way it is in SL, there is always something that just HAS to be purchased right now. Anyway, I am now happy to introduce the new me, sporting the Catwa Kimberly Bento Head. I have never been one to have a ton of different faces, even on my old classic avatar. I only bought the one Mesh Head, Catwa Alice, and did the same laborious procedure before I purchased her. I thought she was gorgeous, and as near my old ‘me’ as I felt was acceptable. So what did I do with my Bento demo heads? I made them look as near to my Alice as I could, of course! Granted, they are not exactly twins, but, I have achieved a look that I find pleasing and acceptable to me, and that is, after all, the whole point of our avatars here. We tweak them here and there to reach an overall level we find not only acceptable, but hopefully pleasing too.
- Trying to get a similar look to my beloved Alice.
- Testing out different eye colours from my pack of DeeTalez Hypnotic bicolour eye appliers.
I am a total Catwa devotee with regards to female Mesh Heads. I have tried several other makes, and there was always some part of the head that just didn’t look right. None of the other heads could match the level of detail put into the animations like Catwa heads. The smiles work, the facial expressions work. I also love the amount of animations that Catwa includes with her heads.
